/who
Hi there! I'm Fabrice.
I was born in 1982 in Pescara, Italy and I'm currently based in Paris.
After being graduated in Industrial Design, I studied Visual Communication and Multimedia Design in Venice and I graduated in 2008.
After graduation I made some works as a freelancer for different private customers.
Actually I'm working for glassbox as visual and graphic designer.
/what
I'm a multy-disciplinary graphic designer. That is a designer who combines different artistic languages to communicate and to express himself.
I love paper, black ink, crayons, paint and dust. My favourite and indispensable tools are first of all my inseparable black fountain pen (the same Parker my father offer me when I was 8yo). After that, I can't imagine my work-space without scanners, pen tablet, analogical and digital cameras, films, paint, paper, cutter, tripod, and other things that are important for me as well, but that I don't list now.
I'm not a photographer even if my AF thesis project focused on photography.
I like photography as a language and as a medium. I studied both the technical and the theoretic aspects of it.
I found very interesting to analyze how the approach to this language has changed, how "making photogtaphy" evolved and how people changed their perception of photographic images throws time.
From this point of view I often experimented with photography combining it with graphic and illustration.
/why
A few principles powerfully influence my creativity as a graphic designer.
I strive for simplicity of values and functions adding personality, substance and truthfulness in design.
The aim is to pursue a combination of aesthetic and functional aspects able to improve the way we communicate, perceive and interact.
Besides digital expressions and tools, I love the analogical nature of things.
I can stay hours to contemplate how a little piece of paper absorbs drops of black ink, admiring how ink sinuously expands itself on the paper. Than I like work on it digitally, always without forgetting its original analogical aesthetic character.
That's why I have a tight relation with paper+pen, tools to which I give the task to fix and impress moments, situations, things and everything that attracts my mind and spirit.
